Timber Creek Information

Timber Creek in the Northern Territory is a remote outback holiday destination that many travellers and tourists tend to overlook. Many who come to visit are seeking the real Australian Outback experience and Timber Creek will provide just that. The landscape is rugged, temperature hot and wildlife experiences are abundant with buffalo’s dingoes, wallabies, birds, fish and dangerous crocodiles present.

A great place to stay is at the famous Bullo River Station, which dominates the area of Timber Creek. Lying on the Bullo River, the station covers an amazing 500,000 acres of wildlife and fauna. Many who have travelled and experienced their stay have described it as one of the greatest Australian experience ever.

There are plenty of activities and things to do for entertainment. A cattle mustering is seasonal work during the dry months of May to October in the area. Tourists are welcome to join for the best outback cowboy adventure. Horse riding is a must and it is advisable to bring your own boots.

A helicopter tour is also recommended which is guaranteed to give you a breathtaking experience. The flight encompasses the vastness of the area and highlights include the magnificent wildlife and terrain that can bee seen from above.

The area around Timber Creek also features plenty of culture with truly authentic Aboriginal Rock carvings that date back thousands of years. Guided tours take you through magnificent Gorges and every year more and more rock art is being discovered in the area.

Fishing is also excellent in the Victoria and Bullo River. The rivers are famous for monster Barramundi and Jewfish however there are plenty of other great species to fish for including salmon, mangrove jack and black bream.

Wildlife and Bird watching should also get a mention as a vital attraction not to miss.
